TRAINING ON UNDERGROUND ORGANISMS AND WORM COMPOST

EGET
TRAINING ON UNDERGROUND ORGANISMS AND WORM COMPOST

In accordance with the protocol signed between Muğla American Culture College, our Foundation, and our Economic Enterprise, we have completed the first in a series of ecological farming training sessions that we will conduct during the 2023-2024 academic year.

Our first training session, titled ‘Living Underground Organisms and Vermicompost,’ was provided to 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students by our Agricultural Engineer, Necla Dal.

During the training, which took place in the EGET Foundation Headquarters Permaculture Garden, all students enjoyed learning through fun. Students learned about the harm that chemical fertilizers cause to soil, air, and water, and how important natural fertilizers are for both the environment and human health. They also experienced how to return their organic waste to nature by preparing compost.

At the end of the training, students were given a copy of the book ‘I Am Aysen the Worm,’ a publication of the EGET Foundation, written and illustrated by our Founder, Artist Safai, as a gift. Students read the message on the last page of the book: ‘I am a friend of nature and people. Please protect and care for me.’ They all enthusiastically chanted in unison, "With the wish for a world free from poisoning, I send you all my love."
